After-Hours

The talks end. The hallway track does not. After-Hours is everything that happens when the projectors go dark and ROOTCON spills into the night: contests reaching their final form, off-the-record conversations, terrible ideas becoming working prototypes, music, drinks, strange traditions, and the kind of stories nobody can fully verify the next morning. Bring your badge, your friends, and whatever energy survived the day. The schedule may say the conference is over. The conference disagrees.

Movie Night

Trade slide decks for the big screen. ROOTCON Movie Night is a laid-back After-Hours screening of Russian Reverse, a hacker story steeped in reverse engineering, hardware, secrets, and the consequences of looking too closely at what lives inside a device. Settle in with the community, debate the technical details, and enjoy a film where curiosity is rarely harmless.

Hacker Karaoke exists for those people. Take the stage and perform in front of fellow hackers, friends, strangers, and people you will probably have breakfast with the next morning. No experience is required, although confidence helps.

Hacker Jeopardy

Hacker Jeopardy brings together teams willing to publicly demonstrate just how much random information they have accumulated over the years. Questions cover security, technology, internet history, hacker culture, movies, games, ROOTCON lore, and other facts that somehow remain stored in memory while important things are forgotten.

ZerØ-Hour Party

The talks are finished, the flags are captured, and the conference has officially run out of responsible decisions. ZerØ-Hour Party is ROOTCON’s post-con release valve: music, drinks, questionable dance moves, war stories, strange outfits, and one last room full of hackers refusing to call it a night. This is the final checkpoint of ROOTCON 20. Show up, cut loose, and help turn whatever happened during the conference into next year’s con lore.
